I personally think that being asked to be maid of honor is a… well… an honor. That usually indicates that “Hey, my girlfriend thinks I am so cute that she wants me to ber her #1 on The Biggest Day of her Life”. Because, let’s be honest, nobody REALLY wants to see fat ugly people in the bridal train
Me, I’d say just let the friend know ahead of time. Money can be divisive, especially, during these harsh economic times. But a true friend will understand and work with you.

Too Broke to be Maid of Honor
I personally think that being asked to be maid of honor is a… well… an honor. That usually indicates that “Hey, my girlfriend thinks I am so cute that she wants me to ber her #1 on The Biggest Day of her Life”. Because, let’s be honest, nobody REALLY wants to see fat ugly people in the bridal train
Problem is, sometimes being Maid of Honor gets prohibitively expensive.
Me, I’d say just let the friend know ahead of time. Money can be divisive, especially, during these harsh economic times. But a true friend will understand and work with you.
